After years of hard work, I retired at 50 and began focusing on the interests and experiences that matter most to me. My lifelong interest in sports inspired McFly’s Almanac: a place to share my research and offer a considered perspective on selected games.

I’ve devoted countless hours to studying team performance, player availability, and the factors that shape competition. Through this site, I share that work with sports fans who value detailed research and clear explanations.

My goal is to make each assessment informative, explain the reasoning behind it, and provide a transparent record of how it compares with the eventual game outcome.

Each analysis begins with a review of the matchup, recent form, injuries, scheduling, and competitive context. I consider both statistical trends and the circumstances surrounding each team to develop a fuller picture of the game.

My analytical model helps organize the data and develop game projections. I compare those findings with publicly available expectations, including published point spreads, as part of my research.

I focus on games that meet my research criteria and combine model findings with a detailed review of the matchup. Each assessment reflects the information available at the time, with uncertainty remaining in every sporting event.

For each featured assessment, I publish an archive entry five minutes after the game begins. Once the game concludes, I record the outcome so visitors can review my published work over time.

Visit My Record to review archived assessments and their recorded results. Historical results provide context for evaluating my work; they do not guarantee the accuracy of future projections.
